Dr Jackson grew up in Orange County, CA, and did his undergraduate work at UC Berkeley. He lived in Tanzania for one year before attending medical school at Georgetown University.
Following completion of his residency at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco, he worked as a primary care physician in Memphis, TN, before moving back to the Bay Area to work as a hospitalist.
He has held several leadership positions during his professional career, including serving as medical director and chair of internal medicine at St Luke's Hospital/CPMC Mission Bernal Campus.
Dr Jackson lives in San Francisco with his family. He enjoys skiing in Tahoe in the winter, going to Yosemite in the spring and spending time with a good novel all year round.
He currently serves as PHA's associate medical director.
